General Guidelines

• Eligibility: We welcome submissions from all authors, regardless of previous publication history. We particularly encourage submissions from underrepresented voices.

• Genres Accepted: We accept manuscripts in the following genres: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, graphic novels, and hybrid works. Please ensure your submission aligns with our editorial focus on ecofeminism, environmental justice, and intersectionality.

• Language: Submissions must be in English.

Manuscript Format

• Length:

  • Fiction and Non-Fiction: 50,000 to 100,000 words.

  • Poetry: A minimum of 50 pages.

  • Graphic Novels: A complete manuscript or detailed proposal with sample pages.

• Font: Times New Roman, 12-point font.

• Spacing: Double-spaced (except for poetry, which can be single-spaced).

• Margins: 1-inch margins on all sides.

• File Format: Submit your manuscript as a single document (.doc or .docx).

Submission Process

Contact us using the field at the bottom of this page with a brief description of your work. We will be in touch as soon as possible to request the following information on yourself and your work.

• Cover Letter: Include a brief cover letter with your submission, introducing yourself and your work. Mention any previous publications or relevant experiences.

• Synopsis: For fiction and non-fiction submissions, include a 1-2 page synopsis of your manuscript.

• Author Bio: Provide a short bio (100-200 words) highlighting your background, achievements, and any relevant affiliations.

• Contact Information: Ensure your contact information (email and phone number) is included in the cover letter.

Revisions & Rights

• We accept simultaneous submissions but request that you notify us immediately if your manuscript is accepted elsewhere.

• We offer competitive compensation in a uniquely author focused profit sharing contract for accepted manuscripts. Details will be discussed upon acceptance.

• Revisions: If we are interested in your manuscript but feel it requires revisions, we may request a revised version before making a final decision.

• Rights: Siren's Muse acquires first North American serial rights for accepted manuscripts. All other rights revert to the author upon publication.
